"When Jesus appeared to His disciples after His Resurrection, He commanded them to spread the gospel to all the world. Previously the gospel had been shared mainly with the Jews, and Peter and the other disciples continued to focus their missionary efforts on them. Cornelius, a Gentile who loved God and sought His guidance, was directed through a heavenly messenger to seek out the Apostle Peter. At the same time, Peter had a vision that helped him better understand how Heavenly Father feels about all His children.
