Welcome to Primary!
Primary is the children's auxiliary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Primary is for children 18 months old through 11 years old. Primary consists of age appropriate Sunday classes, Sunday Sharing Time, and weekday activities for children 8-11.
Classes
- Nursery - age 18 months - 3 years - 1 hour and 50 minutes. Uses Behold! Your Little Ones manual
- Sunbeams - age 3 - 50 minutes - uses Primary 1 manual
- CTR 4, 5, 6 and 7 - 50 minutes - uses Primary 2 & 3 manuals on alternating years
- Valiant 8, 9, 10 and 11 - 50 minutes - uses Primary 4, 5, 6 and 7 manuals on a rotating basis
Sharing Time
- multiple classes come together for worship and instruction
- includes theme based activities
- includes singing time
Opening/Closing Exercises
- Greeting
- Welcome visitors
- Announcements
- Talks by children
- Scripture by a child
- Prayer by a child
- Songs (opening/prayer/birthday/welcome etc)
Leadership
- Each Primary has a presidency consisting of a president, two counselors and a secretary
- If the number of children is sufficient, separate teachers may be called and assigned to each class
